One of the Chinatown landmarks, Pagoda, was demolished last week. Many Chinese who live in London felt upset when they heard the news.
The Pagoda was built in the 80’s last century. A Yangzhou garden designer was invited to design and built the pagoda. Since then, the pagoda has become an indispensable part of Chinatown in London. It carries a lot of people’s nostalgic memories. Also, It is the ideal meeting point for numerous Chinese people in London.
The pagoda was demolished because of the community improvement plan. Now the construction site displays empty space where the pagoda was.
