Edmond Yeo is the current Chair of the Chinese Information and Advice Centre. He received a commendation from the Home Office in 2018. He is a Recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Leadership” at the World Chinese Economic Forum 2013. He was a finalist of the “Pearl Awards’ Lord Chan Award for Outstanding Individual” in 2006. He is also the Hon Chair of the China-UK International Music Festival (CUIMF). Edmond is the Chair of the Safer Neighbourhood West End and Chinatown Ward Panel. He cooked at ‘CRISIS’ for Christmas. He enjoys singing and was a member of the Joint Force Singers of Westminster. He wrote a book on “Hong Kong Home Décor” in the 1990s. Edmond is a former Councillor of the London Borough of Ealing and currently a Commissioner at the Ealing Race Equality Commission and a school governor. He led the charity in hosting the (then) TRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to a London Chinatown visit 2022. Last year, Edmond was invited to submit 100 nominations to meet Their Majesties and some members of the royal family in Buckingham Palace.
James Ng
Born in Melaka, James Ng is a qualified lawyer in Malaysia and England. He is currently a Partner in an international law firm’s office in London specialising in dispute resolution. James is an international Mediator. He is active in several non-profit organisations including serving as President of England-China Business Forum.
Kenyan born Cllr Seema Kumar was the first Asian woman conservative Councillor to be elected in the London Borough of Ealing in 2006 where she lives with her devoted and supportive family for over 40years. In 2014 she stood and won her seat for Ealing Broadway Ward and is currently in her 3rd term of office. She served as the 1st Deputy Citizen of Ealing borough as Deputy Mayor in 2008/9. She has won awards for political unsung hero, excellence in Leadership and Outstanding community service. She is fluent in Swahili, Urdu, and Punjabi and has studied Russian , German and Arabic and is a keen world traveller. Her other interests are writing poetry, creating recipes with home grown produce and engaging with different communities and cultures. An entrepreneur Seema has fundraised for over 3 decades helping several charities. She was the youngest Chairman of the Commonwealth Countries League, Chairman Asian family counselling service, and chaired Children’s Hope Foundation charity for over 10 years. She has been on the committees of Save the Children, Help the Aged, Agha Khan Ball and helped fundraise for water projects in India. She is currently Patron and Hon Vice President for CWO London, Director of Fundraising CWO National , Matron of Panache Global Entertainment, Ambassador for The Creative Women Platform. Her motto is ‘Progress with Compassion’.
Viny Poon is a talented networker with a remarkable ability to connect with people. She enjoys volunteering and helps vulnerable individuals through her empathy for fairness. During the pandemic, she led a team of volunteers to deliver food parcels and donated large quantities of PPE, face masks, and thermometers to the elderly, Community Centres, Schools, Hospitals, and Care Homes. Viny set up a support network for the local Chinese community in Bexley, which included online tuition for children studying the Mandarin language. She is a winner of the “Bexley Heroes” Award presented by the LordMayor of Bexley. Viny is active in Safer Neighbourhood meetings held quarterly and helps the homeless, as well as female domestic abuse and mental health service users, to address their issues effectively. She serves as a trustee for the East and West Music Festival and is the former President of the Lions Club of London Covent Garden (2022-2023). She chartered the Lions Club of London West End in June 2024 and is also involved as a trustee with the North London Chinese Association. Viny enjoys building volunteer teams to organise traditional Chinese festival events.
