感恩：拜访全英华人华侨中国统一促进会主席单声博士
由华人资料及咨询中心主席杨庆权太平绅士以及中英国际音乐节首席执行官吴梦梦女士和他们的团队于7月8日获单声主席接见。席间大家和单主席更谈到与其已故妻子单桂秋林女士（桂姨）在华社的经历，与晚辈们分享其中点滴。之后大家也到单桂秋林女士的坟前鞠躬献花聊表怀念之情。由於这次拜访是得到单主席同意在网上直播，让社区的有心人也可以知道单主席的近况；大家都纷纷留感谢单主席及桂姨对华社的付出，也有人叮嘱单主席要保重身体。单主席也向大家问好，让大家在疫情注意健康。CIAC2020年的杰出女性志愿者颁奖典礼因疫情关係在线上举行，无法遂一亲身颁奖给各位。所以CIAC主席杨庆权太平绅士亦藉今次的拜访把颁给桂姨的感谢牌匾交给单主席，感谢桂姨多年来对华社的贡献。在此特别鸣谢朱良伟医生及其英国中华传统文化研究院团队的细心安排，此次拜访活动得以顺利完成。

由於反應熱烈，第八屆華人資料及諮詢中心女性志願者大獎的提名截止日期現延長至周五十月八日下午五時。本年更增設CIAC社區倡導者提名。有關信息及提名表格請瀏覽www.ciac.co.uk 2020年CIAC傑出女性志願者大獎的優勝者為滕學女士。滕女士自2004年以來華夏中文學校的校長，這是曼徹斯特第一所普通話學校。她熱衷於建立一個強大的新框架來改善管理和教學。她已將學校轉變為曼徹斯特華人社區和補充教育領域領先的補充學校之一。滕學校長還建立了學校獎勵制度和親自設計的證書來獎勵學生，並讓孩子們在藝術俱樂部設計了特殊的卡片，學生可以在上面收集表彰。她的熱情和奉獻精神得到了廣泛認可。華夏是2009年被中國國務院授予“漢語教育示範學校”稱號的英國前三所學校之一。2011年，她的雇主曼徹斯特大學（University of Manchester）將她評為“年度最佳志願者”2017年，華夏獲得了全國補習學校支持組織NRCSE的金獎。 時間有限，請把握機會提名您心目中的最佳人選。 Due to the overwhelming response, the deadline for the nomination of the 8th Chinese Information and Advice Centre’s Woman Volunteer of the Year Award is now extended to Friday 8th October 2021 5:00 pm.
